Historic Firsts for The Senior Class
Historic Firsts for The Senior Class
On September 20, the cast of Albert Lea High School's "Mean Girls" musical production had a full cast practice in the auditorium. The new cast bonded together performing trust falls in front of the whole room. Sophomore Eh Snow recites her lines in front of her fellow castmates. The musical will premiere on Nov. 21, continuing through November 23, at the Albert Lea High School auditorium. This will be Mary Schoppers first time directing the fall musical.

Hi everyone! My name is Abby Chalmers, and I’m the Ahlahasa editor for the 2021-2022 school year! I am a varsity soccer captain and the president of several clubs at the high school. After my senior year, I plan to attend college and major in English, education, and/or business.

In December, District 241 began building in one "virtual Wednesday" each month. Such days were designated "off" days for students and staff to catch up on homework, but they also function as a moment of rest amid hectic schedules and life's stress.

"I like all of the 'Donna and the Dynamos' scenes," Cunningham said, referencing the numerous songs the trio sings together throughout the show. "Katie, Morgan and I have such a great bond. This helps tie into how we play our characters."

Senior Maddie Schneider is a captain on the girls' varsity soccer team with aspirations of playing college soccer. Before the season was halted, a college scout was planning on attending the Sept. 18 game against Owatonna to possibly recruit her. "Missing the game against Owatonna will affect me because the scout was there to watch me play and see how I am as a player," Schneider said. "If I met requirements, I would have a spot on that college team."

The scanners were installed as a safety precaution that was taken in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the students and staff.
