The 2024 Minnesota State Fair was a moment of pride for Sophomore Connor White. White and his heifer won a purple ribbon and first place, which was his first time getting a Grand in his class at the State Fair.
“It felt good winning, but I can still work on leading her better,” White said, about his round during the Dairy show of the State Fair.
The Minnesota 4-H Livestock Auction is a movement showcasing Minnesota’s amazing young livestock producers and their animals. During the State Fair, White felt prepared after making sure his cow was ready to present.
“I felt prepared for it,” White said as he spoke of his emotions before his round. “I had to make sure I was ready to set up my cow when the judge came over.”
He started when he was ten and has competed for almost six years. White showed the Judge that his cow was well-trained, working with her to walk slowly. When White had won his first Dairy Show in Freeborn County he felt excited, “My first time winning the county I got reserved champion, so I was happy.”
