Homecoming week has just wrapped up. And it was fun like always. There were so many events happening during the week. Every day there was some kind of event going on. Whether it was volleyball, soccer, or football\: all sorts of sporting events. I was stoked for the homecoming football game. I don’t know much about football but when it comes to homecoming football games, I’ll be there. I don’t know much about football, but I go because of the school spirit and pride. The atmosphere is just perfect. The student section is the loudest when it comes to homecoming football.

There is also a dance. The dance is always 50/50; it’s either fun or boring. Dresses are always the highlight in my opinion. I like looking at the different styles. I personally like beaded or ones that make a statement rather than satin or sparkly dresses (They’re still cute though). However looking at all the ankles showing because boys can’t find a longer pair of pants is an eyesore.

The student council works hard to get ready for homecoming. When you participate in the week’s events, you can see the effort and hard work they put in.

People complain about not having anything to do in Albert Lea but when there are social events taking place then the negativity comes out. The student council tries to make sure everyone is included with events like senior sunrise and field day. Mty suggestion is to get involved. This year I was decorating for the dance instead of tearing everything down like last year.

Homecoming, overall, is a fun experience if you choose for it to be. I hope everyone experiences the excitement and community of the week at least once.
