Sports are a big part of senior Addison Herr’s life. They have shaped her in many ways. Sports have made her the person she is today while still being an individual that her team’s can also count on during tougher times.
Some of the things that Herr was taught to do by her coaches was to think back and walk yourself through a basic step-by-step for what you need to do next. Before she could over analyze something and think it will go terrible.
“For golf, they told me to relax, I’m a really stiff golfer,” said Herr. “Being confident in myself is what coaches have always told me. And dialing back my power, I’m a bit strong.”
It’s a talent from Herr that helps her in sports, “I’m really strong, people don’t seem to know that,” said Herr. “When I play golf, I don’t have the smoothest swing but I can probably hit a ball the farthest.” She mentions that it’s shocking when people see it.
In addition to golf, Herr plays volleyball and manages the boys’ hockey team in the winter.
