Many people would love to be Rockfeller because he was extremely wealthy. Others might want to be a talented musician like Harry Styles. However Diane Henry took a different route for who she wanted to be in a different life.
For Henry, who is an AP Human Geography teacher, she chose women’s right activist Alice Paul. Henry described Paul as “really important”. Paul advocated and helped secure passage of the 19th amendment to the constitution. Paul helped with granting women the right to vote. Paul led one of the first protests at the White House.
“It’d be pretty cool to stand in her shoes and see what that was like,” said Henry. Henry first learned about Paul when she taught U.S History and helped shape Henry’s teaching which includes teaching AP Human Geography, U.S History, and Criminology. Paul’s legacy will continue to live throughout the years because of Henry’s teaching.
