The Dominican Republic trip was an amazing experience with lots of opportunities to explore a new culture. Spanish Club organized the trip which took place June 3-10 and was supervised by Mary Schoppers and Wilson Bohada. We tried food like mofongo, learned new music and dances like Bachata and Merengue, and took part in cultural experiences like a jiu jitsu class and a local community pottery class. The country was absolutely stunning. With the gorgeous ocean and forests, it made quite the scene.
My favorite memory from the trip is swimming in a river created by the Salto de Jimenoa waterfall. I ate pome fruit off the trees and jump off rocks. I would one-hundred percent go if I was given the chance again and I would also recommend other students to go and experience a new place and have an adventure!
