Albert Lea High School has recently made the change from the 20 minute late start on Wednesday to starting at 8 a.m. each day. It was changed to benefit both students and staff members. It now gives the teachers the prep time that they need before first hour to prepare for class.
There was also some issues that had occurred over the years where students would arrive at ALHS, especially on the bus, early with extra time in the morning before school started. There wasn’t enough faculty to supervise the students, and if problems occurred there wasn’t enough staff to help solve the problem.
Principal Grossklaus has been working to resolve these issues and the Wednesday morning schedule change is the solution. There are no plans to revisit the issue in the future.
