Hello my name is Haley DeSart and I am the co-editor for the Ahlahasa this year and I’m the residential neurotic optimist. I work two jobs and I am involved with Student Council, Orchestra, National Honor Society, Link Crew and I am currently learning Korean. Honestly I have no idea how I got here, maybe I worked hard or what I’m guessing is I got very lucky.
I found my way to Ahlahasa in my sophomore year when I joined during second semester after taking the prerequisite class. I’ve always loved writing and the newspaper was the best place to be.
Somehow in the two and a half years I’ve been on staff I found myself in the position of an editor with two beautifully amazing coeditors, a phenomenal advisor, and a lovely staff that I’m proud to work with and thankful for each of them.
It’s still hard for me to believe I’m in my last year of high school and the see the kids I’ve known for one third of my life grow up. It’s difficult to process it all but I’m looking forward to this upcoming year.
I’m excited for the stories Ahlahasa will produce and hope our content will meet expectations. I hope to see everyone grow a little more this year while I’ll try to survive all my classes and activities which might just kill me.
