One Act Wins First Place
The One Act Play is a short competitive act that goes against different schools, this year they competed against Winona, Waseca, Kason Manorville and Rochester.
The plays have to be under 35 minutes, making it shorter than the spring play.
The one act play is titled “Every Good Boy Deserves Favor” and is about a man who was sent to a mental hospital due to the hospital thinking he is a lunatic. At the hospital he shares a room with a man who thinks he has a orchestra.
Junior Ethan Eriksmoen plays Sacha, the son of the main character, Alexander.
“Sacha is a shy and timid young boy who really misses his father,” said Ericksmoen.
“Overall, I really enjoy the play. I like how unpredictable it is and I feel like the characters especially Ivanov are memorable.”
The One Act Play subsections were held at the high school on Jan, 26 where Albert lea took first place. The sectional competition will be on Feb, 2 at Lakeville South High School.
