Girls Soccer and Volleyball Recap
Tonight was a night filled with glow sticks, neon, fire, and Bruno’s Corndogs as the Albert Lea Tigers took on Rochester John Marshall and Rochester Century in volleyball and girls soccer at home.
Fans stood on the edge of their seats as the volleyball team defeated JM with a 3-1 game win. All games were very close, making the fans nervous about whether or not the Tigers could claim a victory over the Rockets.
The girls soccer team did not meet the same fate as the volleyball team as they suffered a loss this evening against Rochester Century. The Tigers fought hard, but the Panthers ultimately won.
After the girls soccer game, the parking lot of Jim Gustafson Field became the site for a large bonfire in the parking lot. Students and staff alike were found chatting in groups, taking selfies, and munching on corndogs sold by the Albert Lea favorite, Bruno’s Corndogs. As the flames dwindled down and people began to leave, the Albert Lea Fire Department extinguished the flames.
Thank you to all the athletes, coaches and organizers of tonight’s events for all their hard work this evening.
