‘Your Body is a Temple’
Carissa Blizzard refers to her Bible to explain her style preference
Modest for me is skirts below the knee and shirts three fingers below the neck,” said Carissa Blizzard, ALHS junior.
Blizzard has a unique style of which she is very proud.
At a young age Blizzard was dressing like that, though she didn’t always understand why.
“I started reading my bible more when I was about 13,” Blizzard said. “I started to understand that my body is a temple.”
Many people don’t understand why Blizzard dresses the way she does, or believe its because of her religion. Blizzard said she really does it as a personal preference, and that not everybody at her church dresses this way.
“The best thing my mom ever told me to say to people (about the way I dress) is if the bathrooms didn’t have words, how would you know which one to go in? The girls has a skirt.”
Blizzard wears skirts often because she believes they’re modest, but also because she likes to feel like a girl.
“Sometimes pants are the more modest thing to wear.” Blizzard said. “Some skirts girls wear just aren’t modest”
Blizzard has a unique style, and her own reasoning behind it. She takes pride in her personal choices and dresses the way she feels comfortable.
