‘Pink’ would have been the best way to describe the crowd at the Albert Lea Tigers volleyball game on Tuesday October 16th. There were pink shirts, pink pants and pink bodysuits. It was all done for one purpose: breast cancer awareness. The senior volleyball players organized a ‘pink out’ to raise awareness for breast cancer, and asked all the students that were attending the game to wear pink. The students delivered.
“I think it’s really cool that they’re raising awareness for the condition,” said senior and volleyball fan Katie Williamson,
Senior and volleyball captain Jensen Goodell was one on the volleyball players involved in organizing the ‘pink out’.
“We chose to do it because we’ve done it in the past and we think it’s a good cause,” said Goodell
The fans agreed.
“It shows the team cares about more than volleyball,” said senior and volleyball fan Kelly Sanderson.
The goal was to raise awareness, and not necessarily money.
“I wanted to people to notice and make a change,” said Goodell, “I think some people thought it was pretty cool.”
